7.45pm - 10pm (Notices til 10.15pm)
St Barnabas Church Hall,
Rushet Road,
Kent,
BR5 2PU.
There is plenty of parking (car park behind building), and local bus routes include the 61. The location of the church can be seen on this map.
Joining the Chorus
Anyone is welcome to come and give the chorus a try.
At your first rehearsal you will have a short voice test with the music director. This is NOT an audition (there's no pass or fail!). It is purely to discover which voice part you are most suited to. It takes all of about a minute (and is not in front of the rest of the chorus!).
If you decide you enjoy singing with the chorus (which we hope you will), then you will join in rehearsals on a weekly basis. After 4 or 5 weeks, you will be asked to audition. During the audition (which is done in a separate room - not infront of lots of people!) you will sing your choice of one of the songs we have been learning. You'll have to sing part of it on its own, and then part of it alongside one or two other parts to make sure that you can confidently keep to your own part.
It's all done in a relaxed manner. The aim is to get you through it - not to frighten you!
We want everyone to enjoy singing - that's our main aim!
Subs
After your successful audition, there is a joining fee to pay (which in the future will probably cover LABBS membership), then the weekly subs are just £4! Where else do you get over 2 hours of entertainment and education for just £4? Subs are payable weekly (regardless of attendance). Block payments can also be made.
